DPS Sharjah emerge best

DPS Sharjah emerged overall champions in the third Skyline Inter-School Sports Festival.

DPS won the boys and girls’ table tennis championship, boys’ basketball championship and their girls finished runners-up in basketball. Eighteen schools and 590 students took part in the six-day event.

In the final, DPS boys defeated NIMS, Sharjah 53-50 with Abraham (24), Karun Kumar (13), and Adeeb Iqbal (10) being the notable contributers. Muneer (23), and Abhil Dev (10) scored for NIMS, Sharjah. DPS were defeated by The Millennium School Dubai 17-35 in girls’ section. 
Shreya Munge (14) and Sindhu (12) excelled for Millennium while Humaira scored 8 points for DPS.

The football final saw Westminster thrashing Our Own High School, Al Warqa 3-0. In table tennis, both boys and girls championships were won by DPS Sharjah. In the boys’ final DPS defeated Indian High School and in girls’ final DPS beat Our Own Dubai to clinch the title.

Following prizes were awarded: Basketball boys: Most valuable player: Abraham Jule (DPS, Sharjah), most promising player: Abil Dev of NIMS Sharjah. Girls: most valuable player: Sindhu Poorna (Millennium School), most promising player: Shreya Sadhu (DPS Sharjah). Football: Most valuable player: Mehdi Abdi (Westminster), most promising player: Fizan Nazer (Our Own High School, Al Warqa).
