DPS, Dubai to meet Al Sadiq ‘A’ in final

Defending champions Delhi Private School, Dubai will take on hosts Al Sadiq ‘A’ in the final of the second Al Sadiq Inter School U-10 Cricket Tournament. In the semi-finals played on Tuesday, DPS, Dubai cruised to a 8-wicket win over Indian School, Dubai while Al Sadiq ‘A’ were equally impressive in their 80-run win over Al Sadiq ‘B’

The final which is to be announced at a later date promises to be keen affair between the two unbeaten teams. In the day’s first semi-finals, Al Sadiq ‘A’, opting to bat first, stroked their way to a huge total of 109 runs for two wickets. Fahad did the bulk of the scoring with an unbeaten knock of 43 runs with Rashid (14) and Ahmed (15) also contributing their bit. Later, Arsalan Ejaz claimed three wickets for as many runs to restrict Al Sadiq ‘B’ chase to 29 runs for 8 wickets.

In the second semi-final, despite Srinivas’s fighting knock of 39 runs, Our Own Indian, were restricted to 67 for 7 wickets against some tight bowling and fielding by the DPS lads.

In reply, DPS did not waste much time as they raced to 68 for 2 wickets in just 7.4 overs. Akash, who was named the man of the match, remained unbeaten on 37 runs along with Sanchit, who scored 16 not out.
