Dubai — This year’s Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby is set for landmark celebrations as its hosts the 150th edition on Saturday (June 27) at the Curragh Racecourse in Co. Kildare, Ireland.
This prestigious race meeting will feature the very best of horse racing, fashion and fun. In addition to world-class horses, the event also features lots of ancillary, off track activities.
Thursday (June 25) will see The K Club play host to the DDF Irish Derby Golf Classic. This is a four-person team event and is played on the world famous, Palmer Ryder Cup Course. On the eve of the derby, a glitzy charity ball in aid of The Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation will also be held.
Last year, the event raised a phenomenal €120,000 for the children’s charity which supports sick children and their families, in the comfort of their own homes. On derby day itself, DDF will sponsor The Best Dressed Lady Competition with the winner walking away with the holiday of a lifetime to Dubai comprising of five glorious nights at the The Jumeirah Creekside as well as €1,000 to spend at DDF.
Many of the world’s top horses and jockeys will compete over all three days of the Festival with the Derby attracting the creme de la creme of the equine world who will compete to win one of the ultimate accolades in Irish sport with €1.25 million in prize money.
