Dubai — Shaadab Khan hit unbeaten 56 off just 20 balls to help Dubai Mammoths to beat Mavericks by 19 runs in Ring of Fire T20 league at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

The six-team tournament is organised by Mavericks in partnership with Dubai Cricket Council for the third successive year. With the team struggling on 5 for 71 after winning the toss, Shadab Khan rescued Mammoths from what looked like a precarious position.

Opener Atiq Mahamood slammed four fours in his 21-ball 29, but it was left to Shaadab and Vinay Tolani to stem the rot after wickets tumbled in a heap.

Their 70-run partnership enabled Mammoths to steer clear of troubled waters. Tolani also contributed with a subdued 23. In reply, only Muhammad Rizwan (38) and Muhammad Rumman (40) made some contributions to Mavericks’ chase.
