The anniversary coincides with the UAE’s decision to extend the ‘Year of Sustainability’
Bharat Chachara, the general manager of India Club, commented: “We wanted to organise an event that will give our member who are passionate about swimming a chance to test their skills and competency among themselves.”
The gala was sponsored by long-standing partners Belhasa Projects, with Chachara adding: “We approached Belhasa Projects to support the event as they have been associated with us for a long time in the construction and maintenance of our swimming pool.
“There were keen to support us for the eighth year running and, with the keen participation of the members, it turned out to be a fantastic event.”
The chief executive officier (CEO) of Belhasa Projects, Greg Garner, stated: “We are more than happy to support the India Club, which is one of our long-standing clients in the UAE.
“We constructed the semi-Olympic, temperature-controlled pool in 1980 and refurbished it in 2007 and continue to maintain it.
“At Belhasa Projects, we have always believed in being part of the UAE’s vibrant and multi-cultural community and we are delighted to support the India Club in their annual swimming competition, which is a wonderful occasion for families and children to have a great time.”
