The match witnessed eagerness for both teams. Fossati, Al Ain coach, utilised the services of 19 players in the match which missed Gyan, Radoi, and Alex.

After the first half ended goalless, Bastos and Abdul Aziz Fayez found the mark for Al Ain in the second-half. The margin of victory could have been bigger for the visitors, but unfortunately, Diaki, Michele Bastos and Omar Abdurrahman were denied by the post.

On the brighter side, Khalid Abdurrahman, who was away for 6 months due to injury last season, got a chance to take the field.

Al Ain head coach, Fossati, said that the friendly match was a test for the team and he expressed his happiness by the team’s performance, assuring that they worked on showing their best in the match.

“It is hard to say the team was on the best in the match as three foreign players are away due to some light problems. Gyan, and Radoi who are expected to be back soon, while Alex may need some more time unfortunately but definitely the performance will be better after they are all back.”
