Al Ain Club and UEHC win hockey tournament to mark National Day
Al Ain Club won the Emarati Hockey Competition while the Senior Hockey Competition was clinched by United Emirates Hockey Club (UEHC), to mark the 42nd National Day.
This was the first time that UAE national players participated in the tournament organised by United Emirates Hockey Club Dubai. The tournament was divided into two sections — Emarati Hockey Competition and Senior Hockey.
Al Shabab Hockey Club, Al Ain Hockey Club and Sharjah Hockey Club were part of Emarati Hockey Competition while United Emirates Hockey club, Ravi Hockey Team and Dubai Eagle Hockey Team took part in the senior category.
The tournament was held at Al Manara Sports Centre Jumairah Dubai. It was supervised by international hockey umpires Abid Naqi from Pakistan and Muhammad Mahmoud from Egypt.
Tournament secretary Safdar Cheema said hockey is gaining groung in the UAE as youngsters are eager to play the game.
Ravi Group has been promoting hockey events for many years — especially on national day events of UAE, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and India.
