Partnered by Frankie Dettori when narrowly beaten by Celtic King on only UAE start last season over the same distance on the All-Weather surface, he was lightly raced in Europe during the summer, but failed to find his strides on two occasions at Goodwood and Ascot. And given his splendid performance, Ahtoug should strike this time out on the turf track.

Al Qouz Stables handler Saeed bin Suroor is double-handed in the race with the retained jockey Silvestre D’Souza riding Mysticism leaving Les Troyens for Ted Durcan.

And while Mysticism is making his UAE debut after spending two successful seasons in the US, Les Troyens didn’t impress in his last season’s four starts. His best performance when finished poor second to Garbah in a handicap event on the All-Weather surface.
