The defence ministry said it intercepted 50 Ukrainian drones overnight
The announcement was made by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) at a Press conference on Wednesday, which was attended by Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, vice chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, MD and CEO of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa), founder of Wetex and chairman of the Higher Organising Committee.
The attending audience expressed their appreciation on the developments for Wetex 2014, which coincides with major activities related to the energy sector, including the World Green Economy Summit, SmarTech Shopper for consumers and Green Week from April 14 to 20, 2014.
“I am pleased to announce that preparations for Wetex 2014, which is held under the directive of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and under the patronage of Shaikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance, and President of Dewa, have been completed 19 days before the start of the exhibition, which will coincide with other activities related to energy and environmental sustainability in the region and around the world,” said Al Tayer.

Media reports had suggested the trip would begin as soon as Sunday and last two days
