Dubai — Want to boast an exceptional performance during Ramadan this year? Think mobile, says Criteo.

The performance marketing and advertising technology company recently analysed close to a million transactions from over 130 retailers based in the Middle-East and Northern Africa (Mena) region over desktop, smartphones and tablets to gather data on how companies can optimise online sales during Ramadan.

The findings and recommendations are based mainly on data analysed for Q2 2014; while the percentage of mobile sales per country is based on data from Q1 2015.

In the Middle East, many countries are significantly above this average. Mobile may play a very special role during Ramadan, but it is also a major purchasing channel throughout the year, so retailers in the region need to develop a mobile-centric strategy to boost their sales.
