Abdul Rahman Yousef Al Nasser, senior specialist Telecom Emergency & Audit, Technology Development Affairs in the TRA, gave a presentation titled ‘National Perspective for Telecom Sector Business Continuity during Emergencies’.
During the workshop, the importance of business continuity in the telecom sector was stressed.
Relevant laws regulating this matter were also reviewed; including the Federal Law by Decree No. 3, as amended, regarding the Organisation of the Telecommunications Sector, the National Emergency Plan for the Telecommunications Sector and Business Continuity Instructions for Licensees No. 5 of 2010 - its objectives and its implementation mechanisms. Mohamed Nasser Al Ghanim, director general of the TRA, said: “Maintaining business continuity in the ICT sector in the UAE is one of the most important objectives of the TRA. We perform this role through cooperation that provide telecommunications services in the UAE.”
