Stanadyne, a fuel injection system developer based in Windsor, Connecticut, announced plans to open a facility in the UAE in spring 2016. The announcement follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with Millat Tractors Ltd. that outlines a long term partnership to supply fuel injection systems. The facility will support growing sales in the region and provide technology to meet the requirements for upcoming emissions standards.
Stanadyne is a global leader in the design and manufacture of diesel and gasoline fuel systems. The company specialises in next-generation components designed to meet rigorous global emissions standards and is bringing its technology to engine manufacturers in emerging markets.
Millat Tractors Ltd. is Pakistan's market leader in agricultural tractors and machinery. In partnering with Stanadyne, the company looks to strengthen its position in Middle Eastern markets and focus on developing its next generation of tractor and genset engines.
Representing Stanadyne at the signing were Dr John Pinson, president and chief technology officer, Steve Langin, chief financial officer and Sanjay Chadda, managing director, Near East. Representing Millat Tractor were Sikandar M. Khan, chairman and majority shareholder, Bashir Rana, sr. executive director, Irfan Aqueel, chief executive and Farogh Iqbal Ahmad, general manager Engineering and Supply Chain.
"Expansion in this region is a strategic opportunity for Stanadyne to grow a presence in the underserved markets of this part of the world," said Dr Pinson. "Our regional presence will allow us to deliver key technology in coordination with our customers to address upcoming emissions regulations."
The new facility is planned to open in April 2016 with Millat Tractors Ltd. as one of the first customers. Millat Tractors will utilise Stanadyne's mechanical rotary pump technology in their 50 to 85 HP (37 to 63 kW) tractor and genset models.
"We are very happy to collaborate with Stanadyne to introduce new technology into our growing market and customer base," said Sikandar M. Khan, chairman Millat Tractors. "Going forward, our intention is to leverage our partnership to serve our local markets and increase our export oriented business." Stanadyne will begin delivering pumps to Millat Tractor Ltd from their Dubai facility in May, 2016. - sandhya@khaleejtimes.com
