Sharjah to showcase Mice facilities at event

The Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, or SCTDA, has unveiled its participation in the Gulf Incentive, Business Travel and Meetings Exhibition, or GIBTM, taking place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre from March 25 to 27.

This is Sharjah’s seventh year of participation in one of the region’s most important and specialised events of the meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions, or Mice, sector and brings together in Abu Dhabi more than 300 exhibitors representing 36 countries in the region and from around the world.

SCTDA director-general Khalid Jasim Al Midfa said theAbu Dhabi exhibition is a testimony to the steady growth that the Mice sector has witnessed in recent times and their impact on the economy of countries.

He said the event, showcasing the best of the Mice sector in the region, is a great opportunity for Sharjah to promote its own world-class conventions and meetings facilities and infrastructure and make the most of its participation.

The emirate today is recognised as a leading global destination because of its cultural diversity and tourism sector is also home to top-notch convention and meeting facilities, added Al Midfa.

The exhibition, which is in its seventh year, attracts more than 2,400 participants and 300 exhibitors from 36 countries that include business tourism destinations, industry leaders and investorswho come together to exchange ideas and experiences and explore opportunities and trends in the business tourism sector.
