It was a free educational workshop, which started on October 9 and concluded on October 13. Nahtam Social responsibility started a campaign called Nahtamdisc — Nahtam Developing Internet Safe Community — to educate parents about the significance of cyber safety and promote the benefits of Internet.

Nahtamdisc propagates and highlights the importance of using safe and clean Internet.

The workshop, Cyber Safe Home educated people how to safeguard the children from unwanted Internet elements. Participating parents and guardians got free training on basic counter measures of cyber safety. They downloaded free software from Nahtam’s website to control the Internet use. The useful techniques of Internet filtering and using parent control device, easy methods of implementing Internet rules and etiquette for the children were beneficial and supportive. This event was enlightening, informative and helpful for the parents to counter their everyday issues related to Internet usage by their children.

“Internet itself is a whole world where you can find anything; both good and bad, even unsuitable content for children. We don’t want to send our children alone outside the house without guidance. We tell them the rights and wrongs about the world we live in. In the same way we have to educate them about the do’s and don’ts on Internet; the right way to use it that goes along with our tradition and ethics.” said Ebrahim Al Haddar, Chairman, Nahtam Social Responsibility.
