New signage rules deadline nearing

The Abu Dhabi Business Centre of the Department of Economic Development has said about 40 per cent business owners in the capital have not changed the signages of their shops in compliance with a new law that will take effect after a July 1 deadline.

Mohammed Rashid Al Rumaithi, acting executive director of the Business Centre, and Amer Al Hamadi, executive director of the Urban Planning Sector at the Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council, said the departments managed to apply the signage regulations to improve the appearance of the city, in accordance with international standards.

The centre expects “all commercial enterprises to abide by the deadline set at the end of June to avoid violating rules”.
