Nakheel delivers 95% of villas at Al Furjan project

DUBAI — Nakheel has delivered almost 95 per cent of villas at Al Furjan, its newest residential community in Dubai.

So far, nearly 760 villas have been completed ready for hand over to customers, with the remaining 61 due for delivery by May 2013. In addition, all landscaping work, including more than 30 park areas and walkways that make up almost a quarter of the Al Furjan masterplan, is complete. Located just off Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, close to Discovery Gardens and Ibn Battuta Mall, Al Furjan comprises 819 residential units, all with gardens and terraces. Fifty per cent are terraced houses; the remainder are three, five and six bedroom detached villas.

“Al Furjan, meaning ‘collection of homes’ or ‘small village’ is designed to create a friendly, community environment among residents. Homes are built in small clusters connected by a series of walkways and parks. All 819 homes have a garden with low-level fencing, bringing an air of openness and a sense of communal outdoor living to the Al Furjan community. We are proud to have delivered this unique as the latest addition to our portfolio of completed projects,” Ali Rashid Lootah, Nakheel Chairman said.

Complementing Al Furjan’s terraced homes and villas is Masakin Al Furjan, a complex comprising 335 apartments, convenience store, café and leisure club with pool and gym. Masakin Al Furjan was completed in 2011, and is occupied by residents. Membership of Masakin leisure club is available to all residents of the Al Furjan community.

Nakheel is also constructing an 8,700 square metres community centre, serving Al Furjan, The Gardens and Discovery Gardens, due to open in early 2014. Confirmed tenants include Geant, Chuck E Cheese, Early Learning Centre, Bin Sina Pharmacy, Champion Cleaners, Burger King, Second Cup, Texas Chicken, Arabian Grill, Pizzaro and ladies’ and gentlemen’s hair salons and a nursery.
