Innovation steals show at Samsung Forum

DUBAI — Samsung Electronics, a global leader in digital media and digital convergence technologies, on Monday unveiled new products and services that define its vision for the consumer electronics industry at the Samsung Mena Forum 2013.

“Thanks to our understanding of consumers and their lifestyles in the Middle East and North Africa, Samsung has seen tremendous growth in the region,” said Kyung-tae Bae, president of Samsung Electronics in Middle East and North Africa.

Bae said at the Samsung achieved 65 per cent sales growth in 2012 and stand as a leading consumer electronics brand, and we plan to continue pushing the company forward this year.

“From Smart TVs that are redefining the TV experience to hyper-connected cameras, intelligent home appliances and the most versatile PCs, our regional product line up this year reflects our commitment to delight consumers, bringing not just what they expect, but what they’d never dreamed was possible.

” At the forum, Samsung unveiled significant innovations in television, home appliances, connected cameras, PCs and printers.

Raj Varma, General Manager, IT Sales Group, Samsung Gulf Electronics, said Samsung seeks to emerge as one of the top three players notebooks this year. In 2012, it recorded 24 per cent sales growth notebook sales in the GCC region excluding Saudi Arabia compared to average industry growth of six per cent across the region. With a wide array of cameras in place, Samsung also posted sales surge of 68 per cent in that segment.
