The signing ceremony was held between David Brennan, general manager at the Etisalat Academy, and Todd Thibodeaux, chief executive officer at CompTIA.

The MoU establishes Etisalat Academy as a delivery member in CompTIA’s Authorised Partner Programme (CAPP). ETAC plans to be a leader in new training areas in the Middle East region, offering the best possible solutions in training to their customers. In addition to the portfolio of CompTIA certifications, both the organisations will jointly develop and deliver customised certifications in the areas of green IT, smart energy, digital home, M2M and mobile apps.

ETAC will develop and launch with support from CompTIA: CompTIA IT certification offerings, IT certification learning events and customised certifications.

David Brennan, general manager, Etisalat Academy, said: “CompTIA certifications will build Etisalat Academy and the Gulf region’s competitive differentiation because of their broad global market acceptance. CompTIA’s certifications are ranked in the Top 10 globally and we are glad to be associated with them. Keeping in view the existing and emergent technology trends, these certifications will go a long way in catering to market needs and making ETAC a leader in offering customized IT certifications.”

Todd Thibodeaux, chief executive officer, CompTIA said: “In the IT industry professional certification is a clear differentiator when it comes to hiring, promotion and wages. Employers rely on certifications when hiring IT staff because certified workers have a greater ability to understand new and complex technologies, are more productive and bring more insightful problem solving to the workplace. We’re pleased to team with Etisalat Academy for the delivery of our cutting-edge foundational certifications, which provide a comprehensive measurement of the core technology competencies and knowledge that should be in any IT professional’s skill set.”

The value of CompTIA Certification means improvement in career outcomes for ETAC participants as they qualify candidates for high growth IT jobs, increased compensation and promotional opportunities.

Participants who complete the programme successfully will be issued certificates by CompTIA. The trainings will be delivered in English language at Etisalat Academy.
