Tens of thousands of visitors visited the company’s centre-staged pavilion at the show to satisfy their needs on electronics and get expert opinion on the gadgets they most need. Emax, in return, rewarded its customers with a unique in-store experience and lavish offers and price deals, valued at over 50 per cent of the worth of the products.

The increase was due to sales of smartphones, tablets and laptops more than other gadgets. Together, these three categories were responsible for more than 50 per cent of the sales growth. Gitex offers were also available across all Emax stores that did equally well during the period, breaking records across several product categories.

Neelesh Bhatnagar, chief executive officer of Emax, said: “Gitex Shopper once again resulted in a remarkable performance for Emax; footfall was high and results are substantially strong, with sales up by 25 per cent.”

“As technology continues to rapidly evolve, platforms such as Gitex Shopper are proving increasingly important for consumers to stay abreast of every electronics novelty and for retailers to identify consumer trends as well. We thank Dubai for creating this unique opportunity for retailers and customers to come together and celebrate technology.”
