The Dubai Economic Council (DEC) on Saturday announced that it will organise the second edition of the ‘SME World Summit 2015’ from March 18 to 19 in Dubai in collaboration with SPI Group.

The event will bring together entrepreneurs, investors, experts, government officials, business leaders and international economists to discuss the strategic role of SMEs in the future of Dubai in line with Dubai Plan 2021.

Hani Al Hamli, DEC secretary general, said the Dubai government is keen to improve SMEs operating in the country and enhance their contribution to economic growth.

He added that SMEs are a vital part of Dubai’s economy. They constitute about 95 per cent of all businesses in the emirate and contribute to 40 per cent of Dubai’s nominal GDP.
