Dubai Taxi Net Profit Up by 48pc
DUBAI - Dubai Taxi Corporation reported a 27 per cent increase in its operational revenues during the first nine months of this year commencing from January to the end of September, while reporting a sharp increase in net profits of 48.40 per cent, compared to the same period in 2008, according to a statement on Sunday.
The achievement was attributed to improved services and higher operational efficiency.
Abdul Aziz Malik, CEO, said the corporation, under the Roads and Transport Authority, witnessed a rise in its revenues from Dh457.18 million in 2008 to Dh580.78 million between January and the end of September. This is an increase of Dh123.60million.
Net profits rose from Dh46.07 million in 2008 to Dh68.37 million this year — an increase of Dh22.3 million.
During this period, the corporation increased its fleet by about ten per cent. “DTC’s fleet comprises 3,504 modern taxicabs distributed as follows: 350 vehicles designated as Airport Taxi, 50 vehicles as District Taxi, 6 as Hatta Taxi, 20 as Ladies Taxi and 3,078 as standard taxicab service in addition to two vehicles designated for serving people with special needs,” Al Malik said.
Al Malik said the company was moving to make further progress and expand its services to a larger clientele.
