Dubai — The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry successfully concluded its participation at the ninth World Chambers Congress organised by International Chambers of Commerce’s World Chambers Federation in Torino, Italy, as its large booth attracted over 1,000 visitors over the three days of the congress.

The Dubai Chamber’s attractive booth made its presence felt during the congress as did the organisation’s officials through their participation in the various activities of the biennial event by promoting the Dubai Chamber’s services and initiatives to 12,000 global chambers of commerce.

During the conference, the Dubai Chamber played its role of enhancing cooperation between global chambers of commerce and industry through the participation of Hamad Buamim, president and chief executive officer of the Dubai Chamber and deputy chair of the WCF, who moderated the plenary session on global mobility and judged the World Chambers Competition in the “Best Unconventional” Projects category.

Torino Mayor Piero Fassino, who inaugurated the Congress under the theme “Identity, Community, Vision”, was received by Buamim during his visit to the Dubai Chamber booth and was briefed about the value-added services and initiatives offered by the Dubai Chamber. He was also presented a memento on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Dubai Chamber and a book on the Emirate of Dubai and its evolution.

Buamim said that the important world chambers event provided a fitting platform for the Dubai Chamber to showcase the major global events and conferences organised by the Dubai Chamber on Africa, the CIS, Latin America and the the Global Islamic Economic Summit to the chambers of commerce from over 100 countries as well as to promote Dubai as a global business hub.

He stressed that the Dubai Chamber’s participation was of immense importance as it is playing an active role as a member of WCF and is making forays into the world’s emerging markets.
