Dubai: D.S. Kulkarni Developers Ltd, one of India’s leading real estate and property companies, unveiled in Dubai the blueprint of an iconic city in Pune on Thursday.
Involving an investment of $2 billion, the DSK Dream City, envisioned by the founder and chairman of DSK Group as a futuristic township on more than 250-acres of land on Pune-Solapur Highway, offers 10,000 luxury residential units.
D.S. Kulkarni, the self-made magnate, who has built a diversified business empire encompassing over 20 activities, plans to have the project fully commissioned in eight years.
Speaking to Khaleej Times on the sidelines of an exclusive DSK property exhibition at Rayhaan by Rotana Hotel in Al Ghurair Centre, Kulkarni said the integrated township, would incorporate world class facilities very few builders in India had so far offered.
The three-day exhibition opened on Thursday and DSK expects to draw more than 300 prospective customers over the next two days.
The residential units, currently on offer at Rs7,500 per square foot, will offers resident all modern amenities required for a healthy and luxury lifestyle, said Kulkarni, who has so far built around 40,000 units in India and the US. The development features IT hubs, a five star hotel, malls, multiplexes, a full-sized safety swimming pool for kids with their own play rooms and party areas, music rooms for the young and old, and cross-culture meeting points for all, along 4.5km river banks and meditation centre.
“With 36 sports stadia — twenty four of them Olympic size — , nine sports academies, six world class educational institutes ensure a holistic lifestyle for young and old at DSK Dream City. You can nourish your soul with the bliss of extensive greens and 14 specially designed gardens,” said Kulkarni.
The DSK International Campus already hosts three of the world’s best schools teaching animation, videogame and product design having won over a 100 awards internationally.
“This is a city of my dreams,” said the successful builder who has come up the hard way braving many odds. “Everything and more exists here, because I am of the opinion that there should be no compromises on what we promise, and turning dreams to reality is what I do best.” In preparation for the project, the DSK Group had issued secured non-convertible debentures amounting to Rs.1000 million in August.
Kulkarni, who started his the real estate business in 1981 “to ensure that anyone who dreamt of a home should have a way to fulfill that dream,” said he enjoyed the trust of more than 30,000 clients, a vast majority of them being non resident Indians spread across the US and the Middle East.
“We have been guided by one principle: the customer must be cared for without any compromise. We believe that customer trust is our biggest award,” he said
The group, which has interests spanning automobiles, entertainment, education, travel, has launched projects in Bengaluru, Chennai, Nasik, Hyderabad, New Delhi, Goa and New Jersey.
