Drydocks and Foresight hold cooperation discussions

Offshore drilling and tankers and multipurpose ships form part of the fleet owned by Foresight.

Drydocks World and Maritime World, the internationally renowned provider of maritime and offshore services to the shipping, oil, gas and energy sectors, recently held discussions on co-operation with the Foresight Group on a number of topics of mutual interest including business opportunities for developing the rig business.

The discussions revolved around opportunities to build a number of offshore drilling rigs of the type “LeTourneau Super 116E” at Drydocks World yard for the Foresight Group. Khamis Juma Buamim, chairman of Drydocks World and Maritime World held the discussions with Ravi K. Mehrotra CBE, executive chairman of Foresight, in the presence of Ali bin Towaih, VP business development, commercial and project management, Drydocks World, and Amulya Mohapatra, head of shipping for Cyprus.

Buamim said: “We are delighted that more and more companies are acknowledging the emerging clout of the UAE in the maritime and energy, oil and gas arena.”

Offshore drilling and tankers and multipurpose ships form part of the fleet owned by Foresight. These are managed from Cyprus, the company now wants to shift its base and run its operations from the UAE.
