Announcing this in a Press release Dinesh Chandra Kothari, pro-vice chairman, said that the new school is well positioned to meet the growing demand for top quality educational institutions in the UAE. Kothari who manages DPS Academy is a veteran in the field of education. He entered the field of education by setting up Delhi Public School in association with DPS Society at Jodhpur in India in the year 1998. Having had the experience as pro-vice chairman of three successful schools, one in Jodhpur, India and two in the UAE, namely DPS Sharjah and Dubai with over 14,000 students, he understands that children have varying capabilities and is well experienced to meet the growing needs.

“We are extremely happy to announce that KHDA has provided us with the required approval. As we understand while many schools in Dubai are yet to get the required approval, KHDA provided all necessary approvals after their inspection of our school premises. It gives us great satisfaction to announce that our infrastructure is in place, we have appointed the required teaching as well as non teaching staff and we are all set to meet the needs of the student community. Strategically located at the Academic City in Dubai, DPS Academy meets the need for education of children living in Dubai as well as Sharjah,” he pointed out. According to Kothari, DPS Academy is an institution by Delhi Public School Society famed for producing a galaxy of eminent men and women for the past six decades.

“DPS Academy is set in a 10 acre state-of-the art campus. The school has great facilities and it includes sprawling playgrounds, an amphitheater, a half Olympic size indoor swimming pool plus a separate swimming pool for toddlers, well equipped smart classrooms, language labs, indoor play areas for kindergarten blocks, medical centers with trained doctors and nurses, learning labs with special Educators (SEN Teacher), counselling rooms with a trained counsellor, well-connected transport facility, well-equipped ICT and computer laboratories, well-equipped and furnished library etc. We also have manned gates, GPS tracking in buses, RFID card for student’s attendance and CCTV surveillance throughout the campus,” added Kothari.

Outlining the overall plan of DPS Academy, Mosumi Dasgupta, principal, pointed out: “We understand that all children have varying capabilities and hence we have created an atmosphere that will enable each child achieves his or her competency. We also believe that children grow and evolve more through integrated education than through mere syllabi-oriented teaching. So we allow for independent study projects and thematic approach to learning. We assure you that DPS Academy is not just another school but it will be a school that will make a positive difference.”

Mousumi Dasgupta has over 20 years of experience in the field of education. She has been the senior headmistress of Delhi Private School, Sharjah, and has taught both in the primary and senior grades. Having taught at DPS in India and the UAE, Dasgupta will be instrumental in bringing about innovational and effective changes in the teaching-learning process.
