CBD’s new online banking platform is much more personal and much less, well, traditional bank-like, according to a top official of the bank. Customers to experience the next level of personalised banking at the new website with the new online banking platform, can now manage their money, plan their budgets and achieve long-term financial goals.

By introducing the new platform the bank is offering a quite unique experience to its customers, Frans Jan Burkens, deputy general manager of Personal Banking Group told reporters at a news conference. The new experience is only in English, but the Arabic version will be launched after Ramadan, Burkens said. “We are in the process,” he added.

The bank’s online banking features include Sara, the first Virtual Banking Assistant and Personal Financial Management Tool that analyses spending patterns and help make smarter choices to customers. Sara, an avatar that works like Siri, chats intelligently and guides customers every step of the way, round the clock. Through Sara, CBD will be able to engage its visitors with a conversational and engaging customer experience. While increasing customer engagement and overall satisfaction, Sara can also help bridge a real-time live dialogue with CBD call-centre in a live web chat.

“These are breakthrough features that really matter to people. CBD’s Budget and Track service, for instance, offers a convenient, transparent and secure way to manage your finances and keep you in control of your income and expenditure without having to remember a thousand things. CBD’s new online platform offers features that are highly user-friendly and can be customised by users as they wish,” Burkens said.
