According to an investment expert based in Dubai, who is privy to these types of high-profile investments by ADIA and other sovereign wealth funds (SWFs), the New York Times story may have exaggerated the numbers.

The report in the newspaper read in part as, “ ADIA’s exposure to Fairfield was $132 million in 2006, down from $400 million, after withdrawing from it twice, on not have direct involvement with Madoff’s Funds that basis it’s very hard to evaluate its exposure today’ .
