Al Muntaha in Jumeirah Burj Al Arab is, without a doubt, the most luxurious lunch venue in Dubai. The only way to describe the feeling that I felt upon entering this venue would be like stepping into a James Bond film. Crisp white tablecloths adorning round tables, a circular-shaped restaurant façade with floor-to-ceiling windows, looking out at the blue Arabian Gulf, eyeing the regular yachts bobbing by in the distance. The backdrop of the sea almost felt like a paid actor.

However, whilst the magical interiors and location, being in one of Dubai’s most iconic buildings, were impressive, this was all outshone by the food, service, and overall experience.

We were greeted by our wonderful and charismatic waiter, who instantly offered us a glass of French beverage. As we sat, in awe of our surroundings, the first of many pleasant surprises graced our table. Two tiny tartlets were served as a welcome canapé, one of which held perfectly seasoned tuna tartare and the other, a delicate whipped mushroom cream topped with a generous helping of white summer truffles. After this, their selection of various unique homemade breads was served, with a mountain of butter all the way from Burgundy, France.

Now it was time for the lunch menu to commence, kicking off with smoked yellowtail, topped with 24k golden albino caviar. The perfect refreshing-yet-flavoursome nibble. On a richer note, the next course comprised their homemade tagliolini, in an emulsified sauce of fresh summer truffle with Pecorino Romano.

And for my favourite course, the main event: Lacaune lamb. The most tender cut of lamb I have ever tried, served alongside turnip tops, winter melon, and salsa all’Italiana. A perfectly balanced bite, drawing together rich meatiness with delicate accompaniments. After this, our palates were cleansed by a savoury sorbet, made up of Jerusalem artichoke and yet even more fresh white summer truffle. To finish this meal, we indulged in their citrus and coconut creation, which included coconut sorbet, meringue, and fresh citrus.

An unforgettable dining experience that effortlessly combines theatre, precision, and pure indulgence at every turn.
