Confidence is not something we're all born with. For some, it is a mysterious phenomenon that is relatively difficult to acquire, but this is where Riya Berry Choreography steps in to harness hesitation into a ball of positive energy.
Riya Berry Choreography is a passion that took form when its founder Riya Berry decided to establish her love for dance. What started out as a hobby soon turned into a homegrown brand in July this year, armed with a mission to infuse life, vibrancy and intimate value into memorable events, notably weddings.
"Dance is something I have been fond of for many years. It all started during high school where I had taken part in activities and planned choreographies for students in different grades during events. When I'd joined university, I'd participated in annual events and special evenings, where I had taken care of dance routines in stage shows," says Berry, the bubbly Dubai-born founder.
Dubbed as a local talent, the Dubai-born Berry also won several accolades for her stunning moves paired with her upbeat persona. While she is the master behind impressive routines, she owes her inspirational roots to contemporary dance guru, Shiamak Davar, and Bollywood's star choreographer, Bosco-Caesar.
"When I dance, I want to portray confidence. I want people to be able to overcome their insecurities and believe in what they do through the power of dance. I also want to help people feel overcome their issues with body image. No matter your shape or size, dancing can help you develop confidence and a positive body image," she adds.
Under Riya Berry Choreography, the dancing diva hosts single, group and kids' workshops that introduce the fundamentals of various dance styles. Berry's fusion of international dance, hip hop, Bollywood, modern dance, Bhangra, contemporary dance, etc. inspired her to concoct her own course style under the hashtag #BollyBerry. She also hosts fitness workshops that gathers dance enthusiasts and DJs from all over Dubai for an incredible session of music and fun.
Since its launch in July, Berry has received good response by collaborating with dancers across the UAE and spreading the love for dance through Youtube and Instagram. To date, Riya Berry Choreography has catered to over 50 group dances, as well as the first dance for newlyweds and individual performances.
She adds that she has two weddings lined up, as well as RSVPs for an upcoming workshop that will introduce a 30-second routine as part of #BollyBerry.
