This Holy Month of Ramadan remember to take care of your skin and give it some much-needed TLC. Fasting can dehydrate your skin due to reduced fluid intake, so remember to drink at least 8 cups of water and juices between iftar and suhoor. This will help your skin stay hydrated and supple. Try and avoid drinking carbonated and sugary drinks like soda and caffeine as these can also dehydrate your skin.
The foods you eat can affect general skin health, so try to avoid saturated fats, carbohydrates and processed foods as these can lead to flare-ups of acne, eczema and psoriasis and making skin look dull and pasty. Instead, to achieve flawless, glowing skin, try to eat foods rich in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals at your Iftar and Suhoor meals. Your diet should contain plenty of fruits, fish and vegetables full of vitamins A, B and C and minerals to give your skin an added glow .
Your skin will not only be dehydrated due to fasting, but high humidity and the constant AC indoors will also affect it. All these things can lead to parched skin and lips which no one wants. Try to remember to apply plenty of moisturiser to your face and body in the morning and the evening. Moisturisers should be chemical- and paraben-free to avoid further irritation.
Your moisturiser should always be applied after showering for best absorption into the skin. Lips should also be moisturised several times a day with Vitamin E serum or lip salves to avoid cracking.
Moisturisers can help retain long lasting moisture in the skin to leave it looking and feeling beautiful.

Try to avoid wearing makeup during the day to let your skin breathe. Your daily skincare routine should start with daily cleansing and toning, exfoliation then follow with the application of vitamin serums and day- and night-time moisturisers. Try to use mild cleansers to remove makeup and avoid using makeup wipes or harsh products.
Avoid bar soaps and use liquid ones instead as these have a power pH and are less drying to your skin . Remember cleansing with AHA (alpha hydroxy acids) and using antioxidants vitamin C serums are essential for skin radiance and rejuvenation.
Dark circles and puffy eyes are a common complaint during Ramadan so try to have 7-8 hours of beauty sleep each night to give your body time to rejuvenate and repair your skin. During the day you can use a light eye cream to soothe any dehydrated skin around the eye area.
