Christie, Governor of New Jersey, has completed one term and started the second one. His management skills are widely acknowledged but his charisma evaporates when compared with Hillary Clinton. She has a political background, a global vision as a senator and extensive administrative experience as a secretary of state.

She also has the strong backing of President Barrack Obama and former president Bill Clinton. A sizeable number of senators have assured her of support, and an NBC poll found 44 per cent respondents favoured Hillary while 35 per cent went to Christie.
