US presidential candidate Donal Trump wants all Muslims on a database. An insane idea coming from a dangerous demagogue whose vision of the world resembles the policies of the Third Reich. The slaughter of Muslims and Christians in the Middle East and Europe is unacceptable. For 60 years now, the stench of war and conflict has enveloped the world. For many, the concept of world peace is only in words. Peace begins within. It is an unfortunate part of post Cold War history that the demons of enmity, intolerance and violence between nations continue to haunt us. As we reflect on our past, and the painful lessons learnt, the sad truth is that the world isn't working right now as we threaten to bomb each other into oblivion.
