The untold misery that befell about half the population of India due to the heavy rains is definitely a matter of concern. Though the governments in the states and the centre are trying to do their best, the problem is so colossal that it seems difficult to solve.
It is time all resources of the nation - in terms of manpower for rescue and rehabilitation, security and compassion - are mobilised for human and animal life.
The remedy, besides physical efforts, is prayers. This is, in fact, a global disaster brought about by climate change. America, Europe, Middle East, Far East, Africa, Australia, New Zealand and many other countries are the victims of the fury of nature.
