The current situation in the Middle East can be traced back to the policies of the Cold War. The major powers created the Mujahedeen, the Taleban, Al Qaeda, Al Nusra and now the Daesh. Regime change has brought the world closer to a global confrontation.
Any response to the situation in Syria and Iraq must be appropriate and proportionate. Any miscalculation could be a prelude to World War-III. War preparations to intervene in Syria and Iraq are in an advanced state of readiness. Syria is disintegrating. It is only a matter of time before it is Balkanised by its powerful neighbours.
