The report Meet two Indian businessmen who got 10-year UAE visa (KT, May 22) on the new visa reforms in the UAE is full of promises. The UAE being a commercial hub of the region, its decision to grant permanent residency to expatriates of designated category will further boost the presence of the overseas community spread across various business activities. It is certain that investors would make use of this opportunity and contribute more to the UAE and make good of the opportunity. Along with business, the decision to issue long-term visa for expatriates is also contributing to enhancing educational arenas in the UAE which is home to people from all over the world. Perhaps it will also encourage more universities from other countries to setup their campuses, thus indirectly boosting the economy.
