It is quite an alarming trend that youth are aggressively part of a risky gun culture prevailing in the United States. The suspect involved in the El Paso shooting is aged 21. How could he think of taking lives of people?
Denouncing such act of aggression is not enough. It is not going to stop the rising incidents of violence. We need concrete actions such as a serious review of the gun culture that has taken the lives of several people in the recent past.
The US is a melting pot of cultures, and attracts a large number of foreign students to its shores every year. Plenty of Asian nationals go there to study or in search of better job opportunities. The prevailing situation may discourage them from going there and this could have a long-term impact on the US.
