However, watching the US, Canada or Europe lose industry to China or India is not fair at all. Nations should have the right to set standards and minimum wages that apply to importing countries to create fair trade. Developing countries would see their standard of living increase while developed countries would not lose jobs en masse.

Competition would prevail both in wages as well as quality and delivery of products. In other words, paying a worker a dollar a day in wage does not raise the standard of living of workers, it just allows owners and country politicians to line their pockets at the expense of their populations.
