Syria true is first step

The ceasefire in Syria is a first step towards peace. The plan has President Assad's approval. He is the major gainer in the deal along with President Putin of Russia, his main backer. Your Edit rightly said it's a face-saver for the US. It has only bought them more time to exit from the region.
