Stress-free teaching techniques will help educators

Holding workshops for teachers is a positive move towards safeguarding physical, mental and emotional health of the educators (Over 500 teachers de-stress at workshop in Dubai; KT, Sep 12). Until now, focus has been more on the need for differentiation and inclusion of students. Individual differences exist among teachers, too, and issues need to addressed from time to time. Teachers also need support and guidance to stay safe from anxiety issues and pressures of work. Setting realistic goals for teachers, helping them learn easy exercises, techniques for mindfulness, encouraging healthy peer interaction, and guiding them on how to develop a sense of humour could alleviate stress to a certain extent. When we help our teachers, we help our students, too.
