The news report Student in UAE goes missing after school takes away his phone, found later (KT, Sept 18) reflects the changing nature or student-teacher relationship. It showed how kids are being brainwashed by TV and internet. They are not willing to take any initiative, and depend on gadgets. Their brains are getting programmed to spend money and to waste time. There's nothing that motivates them anymore, and yet there is a sense of entitlement. How can a parent not be strict?
