The write up, A sound mind has a lot to do with reading books (KT, May 26) is a superb reminder about the benefits of reading as it seems to be a dying habit among the youth. As pointed out, selective books belonging to different genres such as biography, autobiography, fiction and travelogues could motivate mental health.
Reading at least a page a day will enhance the mood of the reader and prove advantageous in developing the literary skills.
Reading leads to a healthy mindset and broadens the outlook towards the vicissitudes of life. The books can be accessed and approached any time as they offer ready counsel. Many a time going back to significant lines of poetry or pieces of prose helps revive dull minds.
During such stressful times, when mental health issues are growing day by day it is worth initiating a reading revolution.
