I believe if anybody complains to the police or relevant authorities, then the employee faces the risk of losing his/her job.
The issue of employer holding the passport needs some clear-cut explanation. It is one of the biggest problems for the workforce, wherein they have to surrender their passport with the office management. Though the country’s laws are quite clear and they say that employers cannot hold the passport, the practice is contrary to it.
