Need to fight against superstitions

The fact that certain events bring good or bad luck cannot be explained by reason or science is termed as a 'superstition'.

People assign mysterious and inexplicable reasons to such happenings that rationally cannot be explained. Superstitions display backwardness and ignorance since it is based on the fear of the unknown and is against the known laws of reasoning.

Superstitions have many forms, manifestations and practices. Some people sacrifice animals and other belongings to propitiate some deities to achieve their objectives. Though the countries of the West have achieved great progress in the realm of science, numerous superstitions are still prevalent there. Superstitions like the sight of a widow being despised and stepping on a lemon being considered inauspicious are some of the very common sights seen in various places. We have to fight against this savage issue.
