Oftentimes, mainstream media just pick from social networks and make reports appear credible when they are not. Television anchors bleat and blare about some tweet or post without checking for facts.

I call this lazy journalism which is ruining the industry. People’s faith in mainstream media is being eroded. Social media may put out the news first but it’s important that regular news media verify the claims.

Celebrities go online and tweet about something they don’t even know about because they have hired social media managers who promote and allege and make a mockery of the masses. It’s good to be sensational but news should make sense for the reader and viewer.
