Letter to the Editor

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi by exhibiting leadership should announce entry visa for citizens of Pakistan as well and end the bad blood once and for all.

*It’s a good policy decision as far as opening up India for the outside world. The visa that has been granted for those developed nations was not a problem itself, as the procedure for attaining the same earlier was also not that problematic.

What India should do is to open for Pakistan, irrespective of the response from Islamabad. A vast majority in Pakistan is progressive in thought and is not necessarily anti-India for the sake of history and politics. They do have issues but that doesn’t reflect animosity nor are they in any way sympathizers of jihadi network. Pakistan is a forward-looking country that wants to trade with India and have good relations.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi by exhibiting leadership should announce entry visa for citizens of Pakistan as well and end the bad blood once and for all. I’m sure the security and immigration authorities are capable enough to distinguish a genuine visitor from a suspect. Let a new chapter be written in all good faith. Pakistan will have to reciprocate under public pressure – sooner than later.
