“It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife.” These are the opening lines of the novel that has completed 200 years since its publication.
The original title given by the writer was First impressions in year 1797 that was out rightly rejected by the publisher even without giving it a read. Therefore, her maiden novel remained Sense and Sensibility and finally in year 1813 she made a few alterations to the manuscript including the name and published as Pride and Prejudice by the revered Jane Austen.
