September 25 will be a landmark day for the UAE. The first Emirati astronaut Hazza Al Mansoori will etch his name in history when he blasts off into space on an eight-day mission aboard the International Space Station. It is the realisation of a dream, for him and the entire nation. It is a moment of pride and glory. He is the chosen one, selected after gruelling vetting process involving over 4,000 hopefuls for the journey.
Space is the next frontier, and the UAE leadership is keen to make strides on this front. It is the first in the region. Best wishes to our 'koononaut'.
