My son 13-year-old Dubai student Charlie Cracknell’s shot film on traffic pollution, Enviro-Man, has been nominated for best picture in the junior category for the THIMUN Qatar Northwestern Film Festival, to be held from April 17 to 19.
The festival attracts young filmmakers from around the world, serving as a platform for young people to create advocacy films on local or global issues.
Charlie’s film prompts us to wonder if one man can make a difference. Enviro-Man is a comedy in which a superhero fights to reduce traffic congestion and pollution using his superpowers. Comedy is the most effective way to grab someone’s attention. So Charlie uses humour to convey a serious message.
