Interestingly, it was followed up with an article regarding formation of super-bacteria and virus that are evolving to survive the antibiotics. It says: “The Middle East is turning into a hotbed of super-bacteria”.

Instead of creating more pills and medicines to avoid acid reflux, people should be pushed more toward eating healthy fresh food and exercising.

Unfortunately, we, in the Gulf are more prone to spicy food. Over time, the body gives up and spews back what we have fed it.

The Dubai Municipality has started the campaign of “Win your weight in gold”, which is a good sign. While winning our way to a healthier lifestyle is actually the pot of gold, such campaigns at least compel people to take their health seriously.

I would urge every one to make these as habits: Drink a minimum two liters of water a day (not herbal teas, not sodas or cider, just plain water); include a bowl of fresh alkaline-based green salads with a twist of lemon in lunch and dinner; never skip your meals; and exercise.
