Good dietary habits and leading an apt lifestyle seem to be ‘thing of the past’. Breakfast is the first meal of the day. But nowadays, many people skip it — some due to hectic schedule or dietary fads. But not having anything in the morning has consistently being linked to health risks as it can invite high blood pressure, obesity and leaves your metabolism sluggish.

A relative of mine had a bad experience when he decided to skip breakfast to handle his weighty issues. Despite eating only two meals a day, his weight kept increasing and so did his blood pressure and cholesterol. He then resumed his old dietary habits and eating healthy breakfast served the purpose.

Eating breakfast helps maintain the healthy levels of lipids, stabilizes blood sugar and controls hunger pangs. It also helps to keep sluggishness and fatigue at bay. Eating healthy and nutritious breakfast recharges and refuels the body — something that is vital for all and sundry.
